Actor Brad Pitt took a shot at President Trump in a new interview, saying the Republican president poses a dangerous threat on “serious issues.”

Mr. Pitt was speaking to French newspaper Le Journal du Dimanche when he was reportedly asked his feelings about a possible tariff floated by Mr. Trump on French wine. The “Ad Astra” star, who owns a vineyard in Provence with ex-wife Angelina Jolie, said he didn’t “know enough” about the issue to comment, People magazine reported.

“I do not know,” he said, according to People. “I think we will always drink rosé in the United States.

“Unfortunately, it’s almost anecdotal,” he reportedly added. “Trump represents a much bigger threat on such more serious issues.”

Mr. Pitt has given mild criticism of Mr. Trump in the past but tends to avoid the topic in interviews. In 2016, he said he struggled to understand what drove people to vote for the president.

“It seems that the people who suffer the most end up betting for the party that would hurt them,” the Oklahoma native said at the time. “And so I try to understand where they’re coming from.”
