WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. (AP) - A Kentucky woman entered an Alford plea Wednesday in the fatal shootings of her husband and two children.

Courtney Taylor, 44, entered the plea to three counts of murder while appearing in Whitley Circuit Court for a pretrial hearing, news outlets reported. An Alford plea means Taylor did not admit guilt, but acknowledged the prosecution had enough evidence for conviction.

Taylor was charged in 2017 with killing her husband, Larry, and daughters, Jolie and Jessie. Her trial was set to start next month.

Taylor had also faced two counts of attempted murder of a law enforcement officer for pointing a gun in the direction of deputies who responded to the scene of the shooting. Those charges were dropped as part of the plea agreement.

Prosecutors recommended a life sentence without parole.

Formal sentencing was set for April 8.
