President Trump on Wednesday shared a tweet by conservative talk radio host Mark Levin that called Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez a “barely literate moron” over her recent comments slamming billionaires.

“No one ever makes a billion dollars. You take a billion dollars,” Ms. Ocasio-Cortez, an admitted democratic socialist, said during a Martin Luther King Jr. Day discussion with author Ta-Nehisi Coates on Monday.

“You made that money off the backs of undocumented people,” she said. “You made that money off the backs of black and brown people being paid under a living wage. You made that money off the backs of single mothers and all these people who are literally dying because they can’t afford to live.”

Mr. Levin blasted the congresswoman for the comments on Twitter.

“AOC is such an embarrassing, barely literate moron,” the radio host wrote late Tuesday, linking to a Fox Business article about her remarks.

Mr. Trump retweeted the post early Wednesday, along with several others made by Mr. Levin.

Ms. Ocasio-Cortez has come under fire for her comments on billionaires in the past. Exactly one year ago during an MLK event in Harlem, the congresswoman said a system that allows individuals to accumulate wealth and become billionaires is “immoral.”

“I do think that a system that allows billionaires to exist when there are parts of Alabama where people are still getting ringworm because they don’t have access to public health is wrong,” she said at the time.

On Monday, Ms. Ocasio-Cortez stressed that she wasn’t there to “villainize” billionaires or to say that they are “inherently morally corrupt,” which caused many members of the audience to laugh.
