TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Police in Tucson say a man is facing felony charges for allegedly driving impaired and leaving the scene of a fatal hit-and-run car crash last month.

They say 57-year-old Jorge Serrano was arrested in connection with the Feb. 8 crash.

Witnesses say a car was pulling out of an apartment complex and made a left turn before being hit from behind by a pickup truck that allegedly was travelling at a high rate of speed.

They say Serrano left the scene of the crash.

Police later located Serrano and arrested him after a DUI investigation was conducted.

The driver of the car - identified as 71-year-old Rosa Diarte - was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

Police say they were notified Monday that Diarte has died from her injuries.

It was unclear Wednesday if Serrano has a lawyer for his case.
