Adrian Peterson turned 35 years old Saturday, and in doing so, the Redskins running back made a notable contribution to help fight COVID-19.

Peterson donated $100,000 through his charity, the Adrian & Ashley Peterson Family Foundation, to aid senior citizens and students in Houston affected by the coronavirus outbreak. The running back made the announcement Saturday morning on Twitter.

I appreciate everyone’s kind birthday messages,” Peterson tweeted. “The way I’d like to celebrate this year is to give back to others in our city. The @AAPFFoundation is pledging $100,000 to help those in need during these tough times in Houston. We will beat this!”

Peterson’s charity will donate $100,000 worth of meals to those in need.
