LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - It’s been more than 20 years since Kentuckian Tori Murden McClure became the first woman and first American to row a boat solo across the Atlantic Ocean.

She has since become president of Spalding University in Louisville. Her boat, the American Pearl, endured, and is part of a new exhibit this fall at the Frazier History Museum called Cool Kentucky, WDRB-TV reports.

In 1999, Murden McClure spent 81 days on a solo trip in the boat rowing across the ocean from the Canary Islands to Guadeloupe.

Other items in the Cool Kentucky exhibit will be the Kentucky Show multimedia program, a Chevrolet Corvette, an oar and medal from Paralympian Oksana Masters and features on Colonel Harlan Sanders, restaurant critic Duncan Hines and food items such as bourbon balls and burgoo.
