ATLANTA (AP) - Atlanta officials are working on a plan to pay for hundreds of millions of dollars in sidewalk repairs.
The City Council has asked the Atlanta Department of Transportation and the Office of Innovation Delivery and Performance to present options in six months to fund the repairs, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. The two groups are also tasked with prioritizing streets that need them.
Councilman Amir Farokhi estimated the repair backlog at $800 million, though he said that is normal for big cities.
He said the repair plan would stretch over the next 10 to 20 years.
