NEW YORK (AP) - Police have recovered the body of a 4-year-old boy who fell into the Harlem River during a soccer practice on Randall’s Island.

The body of Brendan Mitchell was found floating near the Randall’s Island ferry dock on Tuesday, police said. The boy went into the water during his brother’s soccer practice on the island on Saturday. Adults who were at the soccer practice jumped in but were unable to rescue him.

The medical examiner’s office will determine the cause of death.
