Fired “The Mandalorian” star Gina Carano and Ben Shapiro‘s The Daily Wire are teaming up for a new movie project, it was revealed Friday.

Deadline first broke the news that Ms. Carano will develop, produce, and star in the upcoming film, but that the details of the film are being kept under wraps. The Daily Wire said it will release the movie exclusively to subscribers.

“The Daily Wire is helping make one of my dreams — to develop and produce my own film — come true. I cried out and my prayer was answered,” Ms. Carano, who played bounty hunter Cara Dune on the first two seasons of “The Mandalorian,” said in a statement to Deadline

“I am sending out a direct message of hope to everyone living in fear of cancellation by the totalitarian mob,” she said. “I have only just begun using my voice which is now freer than ever before, and I hope it inspires others to do the same. They can’t cancel us if we don’t let them.”

The news comes a day after Ms. Carano was ousted by Lucasfilm following a TikTok post comparing today’s divisive political climate to Nazi-era Germany.

“Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors…even by children,” she said in the post, Deadline reported. “Because history is edited, most people today don’t realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews. How is that any different from hating someone for their political views.”

Lucasfilm later released a statement Wednesday night saying Ms. Carano was out of the Star Wars series, calling her comments “abhorrent and unacceptable.”

Mr. Shapiro, who co-founded The Daily Wire, said he’s eager to partner with Ms. Carano and to “show Hollywood that if they want to keep canceling those who think differently, they’ll just be helping us build the Xwing to take down their Death Star.”

“We could not be more excited to be working with Gina Carano, an incredible talent dumped by Disney and Lucasfilm for offending the authoritarian Hollywood Left,” he said. “This is what Daily Wire exists to do: provide an alternative not just for consumers, but for creators who refuse to bow to the mob.”

The Daily Wire entered the movie business earlier this year with “Run Hide Fight,” produced by “Bone Tomahawk” producer Dallas Sonnier.
