Dan Bongino‘s schedule just got a lot busier this summer.

The former Secret Service agent will upgrade his resume from Fox News contributor to Fox News host when a new weekend prime-time show launches on June 5.

Mr. Bongino, who also has successful radio and podcasting gigs, will take the slot previously held by the eponymous “Greg Gutfeld Show.”

Bongino will tackle the week’s most pressing headlines, drawing on his experiences as a former law enforcement official to discuss Americans’ top priorities: liberty, security and their families. Viewers can expect Bongino’s passionate and powerful voice on topics from policing to censorship,” the network wrote in a press release.

Still to be determined is whether Mr. Bongino will use his larger microphone to square off yet again with Fox contributor Geraldo Rivera on such issues.

Mr. Rivera exploded on Mr. Bongino in April while the two discussed law enforcement with Fox host Sean Hannity.

“He’s injecting race into the argument because he has nothing else,” Mr. Bongino said of Mr. Rivera during a conversation on the death of Daunte Wright in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota. “All you want to do is see the country burn.”

Officer Kim Potter was charged with second-degree manslaughter in her attempt to subdue him after a traffic stop. She resigned while claiming she killed Mr. Wright by accident when she reached for her Taser but secured her handgun by mistake.

“I want to see the country burn?!” Mr. Rivera, incredulous, exclaimed. “You son of a b——! I want to see the country burn, you punk? You’re nothing but a punk!”

Mr. Bongino‘s upcoming show promises “stories and interviews that showcase community heroes like veterans and police officers on the front lines keeping America safe,” the network’s statement added.
