GAO report details latest in over a decade of nuclear security mismanagement

From the 2004 loss of lab keys in Los Alamos, New Mexico to the 2012 break-in at the Y-12 facility in Tennessee—orchestrated by an 82-year-old nun—U.S. handling of nuclear materials is plagued by security lapses. The National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), is the organization within the Department of Energy (DOE) tasked with nuclear safety. It is also a frequent source of mismanagement. (01:50)
