Posey, Ambrose return
"The Return of Jezebel James," the Fox sitcom premiering tonight at 8, might strike a chord with American women. After all, more and more of them are putting off having children and finding, when they eventually decide to try, that it's not always easy to conceive.
That's basically what happens to Sarah (Parker Posey). She's a successful children's book editor in Manhattan who's newly single. If she wants a baby, it's now or never — though the thirtysomething woman seems unable to admit her age even to her father.
A visit to the physician reveals that she's unable to conceive. ("Can't conceive what?" she asks, as if we're supposed to believe a woman in publishing doesn't understand this.) So she reconnects with her free-spirited sister Coco (Lauren Ambrose) and asks if Coco will move in and carry her baby.
It's a welcome return to television for indie film queen Miss Posey and former "Six Feet Under" star Miss Ambrose. Their talent manages to smooth over the sometimes sticky dialogue. Even better, Woody Allen muse Dianne Wiest is set to appear in later episodes as their mom.
Myles to go on HGTV
Kim Myles last summer captured America's vote to become HGTV's "Design Star" in the reality show of the same name.
Now she's hosting her own show on the network, fulfilling a promise of her win.
