The Washington Redskins finally have brought price stability to FedEx Field.

Team officials yesterday announced general admission seats will stand at $44 to $79 for the 2004 season, the third consecutive year those prices have been in effect. Parking prices, peaking at $25 a car, also will remain unchanged.

The extended price freeze stands in stark contrast to the first several years of Dan Snyder’s ownership of the team, when average prices for non-luxury seats jumped 29 percent, parking fees doubled and many concession items similarly received massive price increases. Most club seats and luxury boxes also more than doubled in price.

Meanwhile, the Redskins continue to add thousands of names to their massive season ticket waiting list following the celebrated return of Joe Gibbs as coach. More than 2,000 names were added in the first 30 hours after the Gibbs hiring became public, and another 3,000 have joined in the six days since, leaving the total waiting list count at more than 82,000 and moving toward six figures.

“The fan support for Washington’s team is strong, and we are grateful for their loyalty,” team senior vice president Mitch Gershman said.

The Redskins have the NFL’s second-highest average ticket price, $68.06, trailing only the New England Patriots.
