Most memorable house: A property that included an atrium in the middle of the house; I worked like a dog, hiring a landscaper and a handyman to paint; recarpet; and do roofwork, plumbing and gardening. We got the price the owner wanted.

Worst experience: I worked with a client for two months, found a property and signed all the correct contracts, and two days before settlement, the deal fell through due to the finance company’s poor communications.

Age: 69

Family: Married, two daughters, three grandchildren

What is your personal dream house? A coach house, which has all the major rooms on the main floor. Ours has a full basement and an upstairs bedroom as well as a two-sided gas fireplace between the dining room and the living room. The view from the dining room and the kitchen looks out onto woods. We purchased this type of house because my wife has a back problem and finds it difficult to climb stairs. Our previous home was a large Colonial.
