29 Consecutive home openers won by Maryland. The Terrapins last lost a home opener in 1976 when they fell to Notre Dame. They are 17-0 in home openers under Gary Williams.

PLAY OF THE GAME

Maryland forward Nik Caner-Medley lofted a pass with 12:10 left to guard Mike Jones, who slammed it in to put the Terps ahead 20-19. The play sparked a 14-3 run and Maryland never relinquished the lead.

SEEN AND HEARD

It doesn’t appear many Maryland fans have ordered too many jerseys for this season just yet. There were plenty of fans wearing No. 25 (Steve Blake), No. 23 (Steve Francis) and even No. 11 (John Gilchrist), but not many donning the No. 13 (Chris McCray) or No. 22 (Caner-Medley) worn by the Terps’ co-captains.
