BY THE NUMBERS
11 Layups or dunks the Hoyas converted in the first half that enabled Georgetown to take a 36-29 lead. In the second half, Vanderbilt allowed Georgetown just two layups and outscored the Hoyas 39-25.
QUOTABLE
“We couldn’t guard them. They were just killing us. We had imposters out there playing in our jerseys. We’d throw the ball to them and let them lay it in the basket as we were taking it out of bounds.”

PLAYER OF THE GAME
Vanderbilt swingman Shan Foster scored a game-high 20 points, going 6-for-11 from the floor, including 5-for-8 from 3-point range. The 6-foot-6 sophomore, who almost committed to Georgetown under former coach Craig Esherick, had 13 points in the second half. Foster, a preseason first-team All-SEC selection, doesn’t have textbook form on his jump shot. It has very little rotation and is delivered in an unorthodox style, but the results are devastating. “He’s as gifted a shooter as I’ve ever coached,” Stallings said.
