Last night at Staples Center in Los Angeles
SEEN AND HEARD
m With footage of Saturday night's brawl at Madison Square Garden having been shown around the clock yesterday, just about everyone knows Denver won't be at full strength when it plays host to the Wizards tonight. Suspensions to several players, including league scoring leader Carmelo Anthony, may come down as soon as today.
But the Wizards' DeShawn Stevenson said Washington can't take anything for granted.
"It changes things, but at the same time this is still the NBA," Stevenson said. "I don't disrespect anybody. Anybody can get hot and carry a team on any given night."
Stevenson did allow that losing the league's top scorer has to change much of what the Nuggets will do.
"It's just like if we lost Gilbert," Stevenson said. "When a team loses its best player, they're losing a guy who is getting the ball about 80 percent of the time. So they are going to have to do a lot of things that they're not used to doing."
Fading celebrity Britney Spears was booed when her face was flashed on the jumbotron.
