One of the very funny things about covering the NFL is looking at the injury report every day.
The league makes every team release a report on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Any player with a significant "bump" or "knick" is supposed to be on the list if it caused him to miss any portion of practice.
The injury report is clearly a way to control the information received by gamblers. But that story is for another day.
The Redskins had 10 players -- including seven offensive starters -- on their Thursday report. The Cowboys had three players and said every player practiced. That's par for the course in Washington and Dallas.
The most hilarious injury report this week has been the Colts-Patriots book. New England is infamous for putting a ton of players on each week. QB Tom Brady's right shoulder has put him as 'probable' on the injury report each week since the beginning of 2005. He has yet to miss a game.
This week, the Colts have 18 players listed on the injury report, including 17 listed as "questionable" which means they should have a 50-50 chance of playing.
Not to be outdone, the Patriots have 21 players on their report, including 15 "questionable" players.
This is a joke.
For your enjoyment, here is the full report. My guess is both teams will have enough players healthy to meet up at 8:15 p.m. on Sunday.
