PROSPECTS UPDATE
The Caps have three players still playing in the postseason with their junior teams, and one draftee at the Frozen Four.
Goaltender Michael Neuvirth and the Plymouth Whalers cruised into the second round of the Ontario Hockey League playoffs with a sweep of the Guelph Storm. Neuvirth allowed three goals on 69 shots in two games.
Mathieu Perreault and the Acadie-Bathurst Titan defeated P.E.I 4-3 last night in Game 7 of a first-round series. Perreault had five goals and three assists in the first six games. Francois Bouchard led seventh-seeded Baie-Comeau in an upset over No. 2 seeded-Victoriaville in six games. Bouchard had five goals and eight assists in the series.
Joe Finley and North Dakota will face Boston College tomorrow night in the second of two semifinals at the NCAA Frozen Four in St. Louis. Should Finley’s Fighting Sioux prevail, they will face either Maine or Michigan State in the championship game Saturday night.
