Caps report

Yesterday at Verizon Center

SEEN AND HEARD

The Caps recalled Jamie Hunt from Hershey of the American Hockey League before the game because of the rash of foot injuries in the defense corps, but with Mike Green being able to play Hunt did not dress. An undrafted free agent from Mercyhurst (Pa.) College, Hunt, who signed with the organization in April, has two goals and 10 assists in his first season with the Bears. Both Hunt and defenseman Jeff Schultz were reassigned to Hershey after the game to play during the NHL All-Star break.

BY THE NUMBERS

96 Shots on goal for the Florida Panthers in their past two games against the Caps. The 54 last Saturday and 42 yesterday represent the Panthers’ most and fifth-most shots this season.
