John McCain and Barack Obama say they are agreeing to hold three presidential debates and one vice presidential debate this fall.
The campaigns issued a joint statement Thursday.
The first presidential debate will be at the University of Mississippi in Oxford on Sept. 26. It will focus on foreign policy and national security. Another will be a town-hall-style debate on Oct. 7 at Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn. The last will be on domestic and economic policy on Oct. 15 at Hofstra University in Hempstead, N.Y.
Vice presidential contenders will meet Oct. 2 at Washington University in St. Louis.
