ADVERTISING & PUBLIC RELATIONS

• Dayna Guzik was promoted to senior account executive for DPR Group Inc. in Germantown. Ms. Guzik joined DPR Group in 2006 and has developed numerous campaigns for high-tech clients.

ARCHITECTURE, CONSTRUCTION AND ENGINEERING

• Cannon Design, an Arlington architectural, engineering and planning firm, promoted Patricia A. Bou to vice president. Ms. Bou has served as project architect and project manager at Cannon Design for the past 15 years.

• Stephen A. Newhouse joined Manekin Construction LLC of Columbia, Md., as vice president of business development. Mr. Newhouse has spent the past 14 years at Atlantic Builders Group Inc. in Baltimore.

GOVERNMENT, ASSOCIATIONS & NONPROFITS

• The National Association of Realtors (NAR) named Walter J. Witek Jr. senior vice president of community and political affairs. Mr. Witek has worked for NAR for more than 20 years, most recently as co-manager of the District-based association's government affairs staff.

• Barbara Newhouse was named chief operating officer of the Autism Society of America (ASA) in Bethesda. Ms. Newhouse comes to ASA after 16 years with the Alzheimer's Association in Chicago.

• Christine Orr joined the Optical Society in the District as director of publication sales. Ms. Orr was formerly marketing manager at the American Institute of Physics in College Park.

FINANCIAL

• Molly S. Rofheart was hired as a supervisor at Goodman & Company LLP's Tysons Corner office. Ms. Rofheart has more than 20 years of experience in the accounting industry.

LEGAL

• Kirk Van Brunt joined Locke Lord Bissell & Liddell LLP as a partner in the firm's D.C. office. Mr. Van Brunt previously worked for D.C. law firm Davis and Harman LLP, where he concentrated on taxation and insurance law.

TECHNOLOGY

• Jill Bruning was named chief operations officer for NJVC LLC, a Vienna, Va., information-technology-solutions provider for the Defense Department. Ms. Bruning was previously an information-systems program manager for NJVC.
