LETTER TO EDITOR: McCain’s policy problem

Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., answers a question during a presidential debate at Hofstra University in Hempstead, N.Y., Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2008. The editorial on the McCain Frankenstein (“McCain’s Frankenstein,” Editorial, Thursday) was very apt and on target. Anyone who has a radio, or a TV can see or hear the fact that McCain-Feingold has left Sen. John McCain without the resources to mount a campaign, whereas Sen. Barack Obama has gotten more free press from the media and, thus, has more of his nonpublic funds to put into the direct ads spouting his misinformation. The barrage of Obama campaign ads is relentless, bordering on annoying. I have yet, this week, to even hear or see a single McCain-Palin campaign advertisement.

Anyone who has been observant in the last decade would have known that the Democrat candidates would have been receiving in-kind contributions from the Main Stream Media (MSM). However, the depth of their involvement with Democratic machine politics is stark in this election, as they pull out all the stops to give this election to Mr. Obama.

This has freed up all the campaign funds in the coffers of Mr. Obama for radio and TV, and once you add in the effects of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN), which is registering everyone from Mickey Mouse to the dog in your local pound, it can be said this is the single most corrupt election in American history, thanks to McCain-Feingold. Conservatives warned President Bush and Mr. McCain of this effect. Mr. McCain poo-pooed the concerns, and he is paying the price. Now that is justice. Unfortunately, the American people are going to pay, and pay dearly, for the arrogance of Sens. John McCain and Russ Feingold.
