ADVERTISING, MARKETING & PUBLIC RELATIONS

• Jeff White joined Environics Communications Inc. as a vice president at the public relations agency's D.C. office. Mr. White previously worked for Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide, where he was vice president for social marketing.

ARCHITECTURE, CONSTRUCTION & ENGINEERING

• Chuck Claar was named vice president of business development for Hubert Construction of Gaithersburg. Mr. Claar joined Hubert Construction from Buchanan Partners, also of Gaithersburg, where he served as land design manager.

FINANCE

•Gregory Cole was appointed chief financial officer for K2M Inc., a Leesburg, Va., maker of medical devices for treatment of spinal conditions. Mr. Cole left Simplexity LLC in Reston, where he was also chief financial officer.

LEGAL

• James J. Bonham joined Steptoe & Johnson LLP as managing director of the D.C. law firm's government affairs and public policy practice. Mr. Bonham was executive director of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

• Dimitri J. Nionakis rejoined Howry LLP as a partner in the global law firm's securities litigation, government enforcement and white collar defense practice and antitrust practice groups. Mr. Nionakis was a litigation partner at Howry's Washington office from 2001 to 2005. Before that, he served four years as associate counsel to President Clinton.

REAL ESTATE

• Wesley Housing Development Corp., an Alexandria nonprofit developer and operator of affordable housing communities in Northern Virginia, named Leslie A. Steen vice president of real estate. Prior to joining Wesley, Ms. Steen served as housing chief under D.C. Mayor Adrian M. Fenty.

• Juanique L. Harris joined Manekin LLC of Columbia, Md., as a property manager. She will manage office buildings at the University of Maryland Medical System and Baltimore Washington Medical Center. Before joining Manekin, Ms. Harris managed property for Cassidy & Pinkard Colliers, a Washington-area provider of commercial real estate services.

TECHNOLOGY

• Nicholas Aleyanis joined NJVC, a Falls Church provider of information technology solutions to the Defense Department, as senior vice president of engineering. Mr. Aleyanis was director of operations and sustainment with defense contractor BAE Systems in Reston.
