’Wives’ duke it out
The claws are out in Hotlanta!
While Sheree Whitfield can end a fight with a simple, “Who’s gonna check me, boo!?”, it seems her “Real Housewives of Atlanta” cast mate Kim Zolciak should be seriously concerned about who’s going to choke her.
Miss Zolciak filed a police report against the outspoken NeNe Leakes four months ago after Miss Leakes reportedly choked the blond-wig-wearing Miss Zolciak twice during a heated confrontation, ETonline.com reported.
According to the New York Daily News, the showdown occurred when Bravo suggested that Miss Zolciak and Miss Leakes meet up to work out their differences. Miss Zolciak tells TMZ that when Miss Leakes choked her, she was unable to breathe for a minute and a half - and that was just the first time.
When Miss Leakes dove in for round two, producers stepped in to shut down the catfight and escort Miss Zolciak to her car. The brazen blonde went straight to the police to file a report, but says she refrained from filing a restraining order so as not to disrupt the show’s filming.
“Violence is unacceptable; this has definitely changed my life. I wish NeNe would be humble enough to apologize,” Miss Zolciak said.
It doesn’t look like that will happen anytime soon. Miss Leakes denied the incident ever occurred when asked about it during a recent night out on the town in the Big Apple.
This week, fans will get to see for themselves what really went down in what Bravo calls “the biggest catfight in ’Housewives’ history.” The third episode of the season begins at 10 tonight on the cable network. No word on whether Miss Zolciak was de-wigged on camera during the beat-down.
Home sweet home
The drama just doesn’t stop — both on-screen and off — for the “Atlanta Housewives,” but in the case of Lisa Wu-Hartwell it appears to be a lot tamer.
Despite reports that Mrs. Hartwell and husband, Ed — a former linebacker with the Baltimore Ravens, the Atlanta Falcons and, most recently, the Oakland Raiders — were evicted from their Atlanta home, the housewife tells People.com, “We chose to move, we were not evicted.
“It was a decision that we made and not one that was made for us. But we were not put out,” Mrs. Hartwell, 38, adds. As for the TMZ report that the couple defaulted on their bank loan, she reaffirms that an attempt to restructure the loan “didn’t work out,” but her family was “not evicted, it was a short-sell. It was not a foreclosure.”
Admitting she has felt the pressure of the recession, Mrs. Hartwell says the couple and their children have moved into a new “downsized” home in a neighboring community. Scrutiny and blog buzz “make me laugh,” she adds, but it’s nothing compared to the catfights on the show.
“I’m watching like, ’this is crazy,’ ” she says of the show’s first two episodes.
’Stars’ in her eyes?
La Toya Jackson is “in serious discussions” to become a contestant on ABC’s “Dancing With The Stars” this fall, says TVWeek.com, citing Us Weekly and unnamed sources.
“She’s a big fan of the show, and being from a musical family, it would be a good fit,” her rep said when contacted by Us.
Miss Jackson, 53, previously appeared on the short-lived reality series “Armed & Famous.” She also competed on the U.K.’s “Celebrity Big Brother” earlier this year.
The season nine “Dancing” cast will be unveiled Monday, TVGuide.com reports.
