On Friday, Christians around the world celebrated the birth of Jesus Christ in a stable in Bethlehem more than two millenniums ago.
In Washington, Roman Catholic Archbishop Donald W. Wuerl joined a choir of volunteers to sing carols while Christmas dinner was served to the needy at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.
