“In continuing with her tradition of selecting American designers for her clothing choices, Mrs. Obama is wearing an Isabel Toledo ensemble to her husband’s Swearing-In Ceremony and today’s Inaugural Parade,” Obama spokeswoman Katie McCormick Lelyveld said in a statement.

The Washington Times reported yesterday that the incoming First Lady will patronize minority fashion designers.

Isabel Toledo is a Cuban-born clothier who learned her craft under the tutelage of fashion icon Anne Klein.

She studied at the Fashion Institute of Technology and the Parsons School of Design of Design in New York.

The Obama campaign says the designer of Mrs. Obama’s inaugural gown will be revealed later today.
