Weekend sightings

While President Obama was enjoying date night with the first lady in Paris, Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. opted for a less glamorous destination. He was seen practicing at Hains Point golf course on Saturday morning. He reportedly was very congenial, shook hands with fellow golfers and joked about his handicap. The vice president was flanked by a couple of Secret Service agents and reportedly carried his own bag.

Headliners

G2 has learned that flame-haired actress Julianne Moore will be in town June 17 at Art and Soul, headlining an event with Hilary Rosen of the Brunswick Group, American Federation of Teachers President Randi Weingarten and Kennedy cousin and Save the Children executive Mark Shriver to celebrate her new children's book, "Freckleface Strawberry and the Dodgeball Bully."

At the airport, she may bump into White House Social Secretary Desiree Rogers, who will be leaving Washington en route to Manhattan. The glamorous celebrity staffer, in demand as ever, will be the keynote speaker at the Creative Coalition's annual membership meeting June 18, according to the group's executive director, Robin Bronk.

Other VIPs expected at the event include actors Tim Daly and Tony Goldwyn.

Ms. Bronk told us that she met with Ms. Rogers and her White House team during the weekend festivities for the White House Correspondents' Dinner earlier last month.

"We're delighted to have the support of this administration for arts funding and advocacy," Ms. Bronk explains.

Speaking of funding, Ms. Bronk tells us that the Creative Coalition will be not be picking up the tab for Ms. Rogers' hotel and airfare.
