(AP Photo/Susan Walsh)Former Vice President Al Gore said Tuesday he plans to have a new book out by November, building on his movie and traveling slideshow about global warming.
Mr. Gore said his book, “Our Choice,” will rally supporters to act on climate change and support renewable energy projects as way to combat global warming and bolster international economies.
Mr. Gore plans to donate all of the profits from the new book to his environmental outfit, the Alliance for Climate Protection.
“An Inconvenient Truth reached millions of people with the message that the climate crisis is threatening the future of human civilization and that it must and can be solved,” Mr. Gore said in a statement Tuesday. “Now that the need for urgent action is even clearer with the alarming new findings of the last three years, it is time for a comprehensive global plan that actually solves the climate crisis. Our Choice will answer that call.”
Mr. Gore won a Nobel Peace prize in 2007, based largely on his documentary, “An Inconvenient Truth.” Since then he has become a global climate change celebrity, pitching his warnings around the globe, while maintaining the ear of the Obama White House.
