GREEN & GLOVER: Almost family

Martin SheenMartin Sheen

Actor Martin Sheen was spotted at Sen. Edward M. Kennedy’s grave at Arlington National Cemetery on Wednesday, paying tribute to a man he must have come to learn much about, given the star’s acting resume.

Mr. Sheen, who famously played the fictitious President Josiah “Jed” Bartlet in the NBC hit “The West Wing,” has appeared on-screen as two of Mr. Kennedy’s brothers. He played Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy in the 1974 made-for-television movie “The Missiles of October” and appeared as President John F. Kennedy in both the 1983 television miniseries “Kennedy” and the 2006 feature “Bobby,” which was directed by his son Emilio Estevez.

Tourists at the cemetery were asked to wait to proceed to the grave site to afford some privacy to Mr. Sheen, who was accompanied by a couple of gentlemen who appeared to be providing security for him.

Mr. Sheen must have thought of Mr. Kennedy as family after spending so much time in his brothers’ shoes.
