LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Obama’s extremist energy czar

Energy czar Carol M. Browner was an official member of the Commission for a Sustainable World Society until last summer. It is a well-known socialist group whose position is, in short, that rich countries must shrink their economies in order to address and reduce purported global warming.

President Obama, in appointing Ms. Browner as director of the White House Office of Energy and Climate Change Policy, has chosen someone who is an extremist member of an organization bent on reducing “rich” countries’ economies. The people need to let Mr. Obama know that we do not agree with her positions on the economy and are extremely concerned with her impact and influence with regard to advice on our future energy policy.

Ms. Browner needs to be replaced with someone whose motives and agenda cannot easily be regarded as un-American.
