LOS ANGELES (AP) - Natalie Portman has won the best-actress honor at the Screen Actors Guild Awards for her role as a ballerina losing her hold on reality in "Black Swan."
"The Fighter" swept the supporting honors Sunday for Christian Bale as an ex-fighter whose career unraveled amid drugs and crime and Melissa Leo as the domineering matriarch of a boxing family.
The wins lift Portman, Bale and Leo's prospects at the Feb. 27 Academy Awards.
The night's final individual award was expected to go to Colin Firth as best actor for the British monarchy saga "The King's Speech," which leads Oscar contenders with 12 nominations and has surged forward in the awards race with upset wins at the Directors Guild and Producers Guild awards.
