Woman’s sex romp exposes workers’ comp fraud

SAN MATEO, Calif. — A sex romp in a public park has exposed a California woman who faked an ankle injury to get out of jury duty and collect $79,000 in workers' compensation payments.

San Francisco investigators say 29-year-old Modupe Adunni Martin reported the injury while working as a Sequoia Union High School District janitor in 2009.

Martin claimed she couldn't walk and needed crutches.

But the San Francisco Chronicle (http://bit.ly/TXCXDb) says investigators saw Martin throw her crutches into a car and run to a public park wearing high heels.

Prosecutors say she then performed a sex act with a boyfriend that she couldn't have done with an injured ankle.

Martin pleaded no contest to fraud and was sentenced on Thursday to nine months in jail and ordered to pay restitution.
