HICKS: Michigan’s ‘Monologues’ don’t protect women

Democrat Rep. Lisa Brown, snarkily directing a comment toward House Speaker James “Jase” Bolger, said, “Mr. Speaker, I’m flattered that you’re all so interested in my vagina, but ‘no’ means ‘no.’ “

And after not being recognized to speak, Democrat Rep. Barb Byrum left the microphone, shouting something about extending regulations for vasectomies.

This is what constitutes advocacy for women in the Mitten State? No thanks.

These radicals were rightly disciplined by the House for their actions, not their meaningless words. Adding to the silliness of their outbursts, both women took part in a reading of “The Vagina Monologues” on the steps of the State Capitol on Monday.

These gals will not be silenced, all right. Too bad the same cannot be said for all the women whose aborted lives are so routinely forgotten.
