Sen. Rand Paul, who famously filibustered against the White House’s stance that strikes against U.S. citizens using unmanned aircraft were justifiable under certain circumstances, showed off a fitting birthday gift Wednesday night: his own personal drone.

“My good friend, Senator Mike Lee from Utah, gave me a drone,” Mr. Paul said during an appearance on Fox News’ “On the Record with Greta Van Susteren.”

What for?

That’s a question the Kentucky Republican raised and then answered in the next breath.

“You may wonder what am I going to do with a drone,” he said. “Well, it’s got a laser. And I’ve been trying to get invited to the Democrat lunch for about a year now and they won’t invite me. So you know what? I think I’m going to send my drone in.”

Mr. Paul’s filibuster against domestic drone use lasted nearly 13 hours, and went forth in March.
