EUREKA SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) - Medical examiners are working to determine the cause of death of a Little Rock woman who died after competing in a bike race in Eureka Springs over the weekend.

Authorities say 39-year-old Laura Wooldridge died Saturday after competing at the Fat Tire Festival. Eureka Springs Fire Department Capt. Jason Morris says Wooldridge apparently crashed her bike during the race.

Morris tells the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette (http://bit.ly/1yPPTyn ) that witnesses saw Wooldridge walk out of a wooded area, covered in blood. He says she was still responsive when she was taken to a hospital.

Wooldridge was later airlifted to Washington Medical Regional Center, where she died. Washington County Coroner Roger Morris says it’s not yet known whether Wooldridge’s death was caused by the wreck or if it was due to another medical issue.
