PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - A man in his 30s has been stabbed to death in Providence, and police say they have a suspect.
Police say they were called to a fight on Dartmouth Avenue shortly before 6 p.m. Monday, and found 32-year-old David Simmons, who recently moved to Providence, suffering from stab wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have not made any arrests. Providence Deputy Police Chief Thomas Oates tells WPRO-AM they have a suspect and are looking for him.
Oates says police have been told the stabbing was prompted by a dispute between the suspect and the victim over a female relative of the suspect.
