PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - A manhole cover explosion has shut down a few streets in Providence.
WPRI-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1gMSL58 ) that the explosion was reported on Sunday night.
National Grid is investigating. No injuries were reported.
The utility said last November that an underground fire caused eight manhole covers to lift up on the edge of downtown Providence, slightly injuring two pedestrians.
