ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - New York’s labor department reports the state total of private sector jobs increased by 3,900 in August.
State officials say the 0.1 percent gain raises New York’s overall job count to a record of 7,605,000.
They report August as the 21st consecutive month of growth.
The count is based on a payroll survey of 18,000 New York employers conducted by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and subject to revision as more data become available.
