GRESHAM, Ore. (AP) - Gresham police say a 35-year-old man was shot in the abdomen outside an apartment complex.

Detective Adam Baker says officers responded Wednesday morning after residents called police to say a man in the parking lot was yelling he had been shot. Other residents called to say they heard a gunshot.

The man was taken to OHSU Hospital. Baker says the victim was unable to make a statement to police at the scene, but the injury did not appear life-threatening.

The detective says investigators have yet to find any residents who witnessed the shooting. He says he doesn’t know if the incident is connected to gang activity.
