ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) - Two Rochester men have received lengthy federal prison sentences for their roles in an armed heroin trafficking operation.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office says 25-year-old Jonathan Rodriguez Melendez was sentenced Friday to 10 years in prison and 28-year-old C.J. Cortes Rodriguez received a nine-year term.

Both pleaded guilty earlier this year to drug and weapons charges following an investigation that included wire taps and undercover drug buys.

Investigators say the men were obtaining heroin from Philadelphia and distributing it in Monroe County.
