FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. (AP) - Fayetteville police are investigating the killing of a restaurant manager who was found shot outside his workplace.
Fayetteville police Lt. Mike Whitlow said the girlfriend of the Applebee’s night manager told them around 6:30 a.m. Sunday that she found him dead inside his vehicle. Police say she had gone to the restaurant after he didn’t come home.
Whitlow told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (https://on-ajc.com/1IvbaVQ ) that a gunshot had pierced the driver’s side window of the man’s vehicle. He was identified only as a 27-year-old from College Park.
Whitlow said police were canvassing nearby businesses in hopes of finding surveillance video. Police say they’re also hoping to speak with anyone who was in the area of the Applebee’s between 2 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. Sunday.
Fayetteville is about 23 miles south of Atlanta.
