DICKINSON, N.D. (AP) - Delta Airlines will stop service to the airport in Dickinson starting Nov. 30.
Kelly Braun is the manager of Dickinson’s Theodore Roosevelt Regional Airport. He says the airline notified the airport of its decision to stop the twice-a-day service between Dickinson and Minneapolis Friday evening.
Delta began offering service to and from Dickinson in June 2013. The airport has obtained a number of grants to modify its facilities to accommodate the 50-passenger jets used by Delta and United Airlines.
Braun says the airport is “very disappointed” with Delta’s announcement, which he says is tied to the slowdown in oilfield workers traveling to the area. He says the airport is an “economic barometer of what’s happening in western North Dakota.”
United will continue to offer twice-daily service to Denver.
