RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Officials have determined the cause of death of a SunTrust executive who was killed in his Richmond home.
Local news outlets report that an autopsy conducted by the state medical examiner’s office revealed on Monday that 55-year-old Brian E. Szabo died from a sharp force injury to his neck.
The Richmond Police Department says Szabo was fatally stabbed early Saturday morning in his family’s residence by 26-year-old Nigel E. Walker. The incident stemmed from an argument with Walker.
A judge has appointed Richmond public defender William Efird to represent Walker, who has a preliminary hearing on May 12 on charges of first-degree murder and using a knife in the commission of a felony.
SunTrust spokeswoman Sue Mallino says the company is saddened by the loss of Szabo.
