NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a Norman man has drowned while swimming in Lake Thunderbird.

The patrol said Thursday that 30-year-old Michael David Dixon was swimming to shore from a buoy when he yelled for help and went under water on Tuesday near Calypso Cove Marina.

A patrol report says Dixon’s body was recovered and he was pronounced dead by the state medical examiner’s office.

The body was sent to the medical examiner for an autopsy.
