NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - One person was injured when a car collided with a light rail train in New Jersey’s largest city.
The crash occurred around 9 p.m. Saturday at Rector Street in Newark.
Authorities say four people were in the car and two people were aboard the light rail. The injured person was a passenger in the car, but further details on their condition were not disclosed.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. But authorities say the driver will likely receive citations for careless driving and driving through a red light.
The crash disrupted the light rail service for about two hours.
