HUNTINGTON, N.Y. (AP) - Police have arrested a 25-year-old motorist after they say he struck and killed a 47-year-old Long Island woman over the weekend.
Suffolk County police say Ena Flores was crossing New York Avenue at Nassau Road in Huntington around 5 p.m. Sunday when she was hit by a Nissan driven by 25-year-old Jorge Granados.
The Huntington Station woman was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.
Granados was charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. His vehicle was impounded for a safety inspection.
Arraignment information for Granados wasn’t immediately available.
