JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - State Rep. Steve Holland says he will undergo surgery to repair an abdominal hernia that has developed in the past two weeks.

The 60-year-old Democrat from Plantersville says he will be admitted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center on Wednesday.

Holland started having health problems two years ago and has been hospitalized multiple times. In July, he was treated at North Mississippi Medical Center for an infection of the abdominal cavity.
