CENTRAL

BASTROP: Water stained; 61-65 degrees. Black bass are fair on watermelon soft plastics, spinnerbaits, and Rat-L-Traps. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are good on stinkbait, nightcrawlers, and shrimp. Yellow catfish are slow.



BELTON: Water murky; 60-64 degrees; 1.02 feet high. Black bass are good on spinnerbaits and soft plastic worms in coves. Hybrid striper are good on live shad. White bass are good trolling Rat-L-Traps and jigging chrome slabs in 40 feet. Crappie are fair on minnows under lights at night. Channel and blue catfish are good on doughbait and stinkbait. Yellow catfish are good on trotlines and throw lines baited with live perch.

BROWNWOOD: Water murky; 57-61 degrees; 0.10 feet high. Black bass are good on craw colored jigs, chartreuse Persuader crankbaits, and watermelon soft plastics in coves in 10-15 feet. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are good on Li’l Fishies and crawdad crankbaits. Crappie are fair on Li’l Fishies and blue tube jigs over brush piles. Channel catfish are slow. Yellow catfish are slow.

BUCHANAN: Water murky; 60-64 degrees; 7.46 feet low. Black bass are good on pumpkinseed JDC curl tail grubs on jigheads, Texas rigged watermelon Scoundrel worms, and blue back Fat Free Shads along ledges and points in 10-25 feet. Striped bass are good jigging Pirk Minnows and Spoiler Shad swim baits in 20-30 feet. White bass are fair on Curb’s crappie jigs, Tiny Traps, and blade baits along main lake points in 15-30 feet. Crappie are slow. Channel catfish are slow. Yellow and blue catfish are slow.

CANYON LAKE: Water murky; 62-66 degrees; 0.02 feet low. Black bass are good on chartreuse Brush Hogs, red shad JDC drop shot worms, and tubes on jigheads in 15-25 feet along bluffs. Striped bass are fair trolling Shad Raps on down riggers and jigging Pirk Minnows in the lower end of the lake in 20-40 feet. White bass are fair on Li’l Fishies along main lake bluffs. Smallmouth bass are good on smoke/blue flake tubes on jigheads, watermelon red JDC grubs, and smoke drop shot worms along main lake points. Crappie are slow. Channel catfish are slow. Yellow and blue catfish are slow.

COLEMAN: Water murky; 63-67 degrees; 4.43 feet low. Black bass are fair on spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and Rat-L-Traps. Hybrid striper are fair on silver spoons. Crappie are fair on minnows. Channel catfish are good on stinkbait, liver, and frozen shrimp. Yellow catfish are slow.

COLORADO RIVER: (At Colorado Bend State Park) No report available.

FAYETTE: Water murky. Black bass are fair on perch colored soft plastic worms and crankbaits in 10-20 feet. Channel and blue catfish are fair on shrimp and bloodbait.

BOB SANDLIN: Water murky; 49-52 degrees; 0.33 feet high. Black bass are fair on black and blue flipping jigs and creature baits. Crappie are fair on minnows. White bass are good on slabs and minnows. Catfish are fair on trotlines and cut shad.

BONHAM: Water stained, 50-52 degrees; 0.12 feet high. Black bass are slow on spinnerbaits and jigs. Crappie are slow on minnows and jigs around brush piles in 15 feet. Catfish are good on drifting cut bait.

CEDAR CREEK: Water stained to murky; 48-52 degrees; Full pool. Black bass are fair on lipless crankbaits, umbrella rigs and spinnerbaits. White bass are fair on slabs. Hybrid striper are fair on slabs. Crappie are good on minnows. Catfish are fair on trotlines.

FAIRFIELD: Black bass fishing is reported as significantly improved. TPWD discontinued stocking the lake after the fish kill in September 2011. Redfish survived the kill in limited numbers.

CALAVERAS: Water stained. Black bass are fair on watermelon crankbaits and soft plastics. Striped bass are fair on white striper jigs. Redfish are fair on live perch and shad. Channel and blue catfish are good on liver, shrimp, and stinkbait. Yellow catfish are slow.

CHOKE CANYON: Water murky; 62-66 degrees; 23.37 feet low. Black bass are good on chartreuse spinnerbaits and soft plastic worms over grass in 12-22 feet. White bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are good on shrimp and stinkbait in 2-10 feet. Yellow catfish are fair on live perch.

COASTAL

NORTH SABINE: Redfish are fair in the marsh on small topwaters and Stanley Ribbits. Trout are fair on the shorelines on Corkies and Catch 2000s.

SOUTH SABINE: Sheepshead and black drum are good at the jetty on live shrimp. Trout are fair around the Reef on live shrimp.

BOLIVAR: Trout are fair to good on the south shoreline on soft plastics and plugs. Black drum and redfish are good at Rollover Pass.

TRINITY BAY: Trout are fair in the middle of the bay on mullet. Redfish are good at the spillway on crabs and mullet.

EAST GALVESTON BAY: Trout are fair to good on the south shoreline on Catch 5s, MirrOlures and Catch 2000s. Whiting and sand trout are good on the edge of the Intracoastal on fresh shrimp.

WEST GALVESTON BAY: Waders have taken good trout in the mud and shell on topwaters and Corkies in the afternoon. Sheepshead, redfish and black drum are good at the jetty on shrimp and crabs.

TEXAS CITY: Redfish are fair to good off the dike around reefs on live shrimp. Black drum and redfish are fair in Moses Lake.

FREEPORT: Sand trout and sheepshead are good on live shrimp on the reefs. Black drum are good in Cold Pass and San Luis pass on cracked blue crabs.

EAST MATAGORDA BAY: Trout are fair to good for drifters over humps and scattered shell on Down South Lures, Bass Assassins and Norton Bull Minnows. Redfish are fair to good on the edge of the Intracoastal on crabs and mullet.

WEST MATAGORDA BAY: Redfish are fair to good in Oyster Lake on shrimp. Trout are fair on shell and grass on soft plastics. Black drum are fair to good at the jetty on crabs.

PORT O’CONNOR: Trout and redfish are fair to good on Corkies over soft mud in waist-deep water in San Antonio Bay. Trout and redfish are fair for drifters working the back lakes with live shrimp.

ROCKPORT: Redfish are good in the Lydia Ann Channel on crabs. Trout are fair over grass while drifting with live shrimp.

PORT ARANSAS: Redfish and black drum are good in the Shrimpboat Channel on crabs and finger mullet. Redfish and sheepshead are fair to good at the jetty on shrimp.

CORPUS CHRISTI: Redfish are fair to good around Shamrock Cove on soft plastics and spoons. Trout are fair to good on the edge of the spoils on Gulps and Corkies.

BAFFIN BAY: Trout are fair to good in mud and grass on Corkies and Gamblers. Redfish are fair along the spoils on gold spoons and Gulps.

PORT MANSFIELD: Trout are fair to good on Corkies and MirrOlures around sand and grass holes. Redfish are fair to good while drifting pot holes on Gulps.

SOUTH PADRE: Trout and redfish are fair to good on the edge of the Intracoastal on DOA Shrimp and Gulps. Redfish are good in South Cullen Bay on Gulps.

PORT ISABEL: Trout and redfish are fair to good in South Bay on live shrimp and Gulps. Redfish are fair at Three Island on gold spoons and soft plastics under rattling corks.
