SPRINGVALE, Maine (AP) - The U.S. Department of Agriculture has awarded renewable energy grants to 13 businesses in Maine.
Officials say the grants totaling more than $100,000 went to Maine farms and businesses. The grants will be used to install renewable energy systems such as solar, wind, and geothermal as well as for energy-efficiency projects.
Five grants were awarded to farms. Grants were also awarded to a home builder, a real estate company, a campground operator, an electrician, a veterinary hospital, a coffee roaster, a jeweler and an auto body shop.
